Graham Haber is a graduate of the University of British Columbia (M.Ed. in Counselling Psychology) and is a registered clinical counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
Graham works with adults, adolescents, and couples. His approach draws on attachment theory, emotionally focused therapy, polyvagal theory, sensorimotor psychotherapy, narrative therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and the structural dissociation model for complex trauma.
Graham specializes in working with distressed couples and individuals struggling with the legacy of trauma. Central to Graham’s approach to counselling is the belief that you, the client, are the expert in your experience and that his role is to support you in re-authoring the stories and patterns that shape your experience. He believes in cultivating a sense of safety in connection with self and others, and in finding different ways of understanding, relating, and doing things that support you in your goals and align with your values.
This could be noticing and shifting how you relate to parts of yourself, others, power dynamics, cultural beliefs, and systemic forces; working on sexual and emotional intimacy in your relationships; identifying and navigating needs, boundaries, and conflict; communicating more effectively; integrating trauma and repairing relational injury; or connecting with yourself and others differently than you do now.
Graham is available to meet at Garibaldi Health Clinic on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
