Endocrine & Autoimmune

When your immune system or hormones are working against you, the answer is rarely simple.

A different approach to complex conditions.

Endocrine and autoimmune conditions don’t fit neatly into a single specialty. Thyroid issues affect energy, weight, mood, and digestion. Autoimmune conditions touch every system in the body. Mold illness mimics dozens of other things and is rarely tested for.

These conditions can benefit from an assessment that considers your history, symptoms, and existing care. We test beyond standard panels, investigate possible contributing factors, and build treatment plans that consider both contributing factors and symptom management.

Let’s investigate your concerns and build a plan around the findings.

How we help.

Standard bloodwork often misses the patterns that drive endocrine and autoimmune conditions. We test thyroid antibodies, full hormone panels, adrenal function, mycotoxin exposure, heavy metals, and food sensitivities — looking at the full system, not just one marker.

LDA/LDI is a targeted treatment used to support immune system regulation — relevant for autoimmune conditions, allergies, and chronic infections. Whether it’s right for you depends on your specific situation, which we’ll assess together.

Complex hormonal and autoimmune presentations — particularly in perimenopausal women — often need a deeper investigation than a standard visit allows. We start with thorough lab assessment, then build an individualized plan using nutrition, herbs, detoxification, immunotherapy, and other targeted therapies.

If you’re concerned about mold exposure, we’ll look at your symptoms and environment without assuming they have a single cause. We can discuss environmental assessment, nutritional support, and any proposed testing, including the limitations of mycotoxin results, which do not, on their own, diagnose a mold-related illness.

What you eat directly affects inflammation, immune function, and hormonal balance. We build nutrition plans tailored to your specific condition — whether that’s an anti-inflammatory protocol, a thyroid-supportive plan, or an autoimmune-specific approach. Botanical medicine and supplements support the underlying physiology.

Our naturopathic doctors are licensed to prescribe medications in BC, including thyroid medications and bioidentical hormones when appropriate. This gives you access to a broader range of treatment options within a natural health framework.

Where your care begins.

Most patients arrive at our door with something unresolved. Sometimes it's been years, sometimes it's brand new. Whatever you're working with, we're here to help.

When you book with us, we'll talk through what's been going on, what you've tried, and what you're hoping for. From there, we'll build the right plan together — whether that's care I continue with you, or care coordinated with another practitioner on our team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — this is one of the most common situations we see. The choice of thyroid tests depends on symptoms, history, and existing results. We run complete thyroid panels including free T3, free T4, reverse T3, and thyroid antibodies, which often reveal patterns (like early Hashimoto’s or poor T4-to-T3 conversion) that a single TSH test won’t catch.

Mold exposure in water-damaged buildings can affect health, but fatigue and other symptoms can have several causes. Exposure alone doesn’t establish that mold is driving an autoimmune or endocrine condition. If it might be part of your picture, we’ll discuss your environment, symptoms, and any appropriate testing, including what the results can and can’t tell us.

Yes. We work alongside your existing treatment, not against it. Our NDs are licensed to prescribe in BC and can manage or adjust certain medications, and we coordinate with your other practitioners. We never recommend stopping prescribed medication without proper medical guidance.

LDA/LDI is a targeted treatment intended to influence the immune system’s response. It has been proposed for autoimmune conditions, allergies, and chronic infections; we’ll discuss the available evidence for your particular concern. Whether it’s right for you depends on your specific situation, which we’ll assess together.

Endocrine and autoimmune conditions are rarely quick fixes — they develop over time and improve over time. That said, many patients start feeling meaningful improvements within the first few months as we address the underlying drivers. We’ll give you a realistic sense of the timeline based on your specific situation.
