A different approach to pain.

Whether you’re recovering from a sports injury, dealing with chronic pain, or managing a condition that hasn’t responded to conventional treatment, there are more options than anti-inflammatories and rest.

At Garibaldi Health Clinic, we take a whole-body approach to pain and injury. We look at structure, inflammation, nutrition, and the nervous system, and use a range of evidence-informed therapies to address the cause, not just the symptoms.

How we help.

Prolotherapy & Perineural Injection Therapy

Prolotherapy is an injection therapy intended to stimulate the body’s natural healing response to strengthen joints weakened by injury or overuse. A precise injection of a mild solution is delivered directly to the site of a torn or stretched ligament or tendon, with the aim of encouraging connective tissue repair and improving joint stability.

Unlike anti-inflammatory treatments that reduce inflammation and pain, prolotherapy is intended to encourage a local repair response. It is used for concerns including knee, shoulder, hip, elbow, neck, and back pain, TMJ dysfunction, carpal tunnel syndrome, and disc problems, with evidence and outcomes varying by condition.

Dr. Jennifer Moss leads the clinic’s prolotherapy and perineural injection therapy practice, combining regenerative injection techniques with her dual training in naturopathic medicine and registered massage therapy. More about Prolotherapy & Perineural Injection Therapy →

Acupuncture

Based on over 3,000 years of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is one of the most well-researched complementary therapies for pain. By stimulating specific points in the body, acupuncture is used to influence inflammation, circulation, and nervous system function — addressing both the site of pain and its underlying contributors. Bowen Therapy

Bowen therapy is a gentle, focused soft tissue technique that uses precise, sustained touch on specific muscles, nerves, and tendons. It has been used for a range of conditions including musculoskeletal pain, migraines, and sciatica. Suitable for patients of all ages. More about Bowen Therapy →

Registered Massage Therapy

Registered massage therapy is a proven tool for treating injury and managing pain. By working directly on muscles, tendons, and connective tissue, it relieves tension, improves circulation, breaks down scar tissue, and supports the body’s recovery. Techniques include myofascial release, deep tissue therapy, trigger point release, and sports massage — selected based on what you’re working with.

Where your care begins.

Most patients arrive at our door with something unresolved. Sometimes it's been years, sometimes it's brand new. Whatever you're working with, we're here to help.

When you book with us, we'll talk through what's been going on, what you've tried, and what you're hoping for. From there, we'll build the right plan together — whether that's care I continue with you, or care coordinated with another practitioner on our team.

Frequently Asked Questions

That depends on what’s going on — what’s causing the pain, how long you’ve had it, and what’s driving it. Some conditions respond best to regenerative injection therapy, others to soft tissue work, acupuncture, or a combination. We’ll assess your situation and recommend the approach most likely to actually resolve it, not just manage it.

Yes. Naturopathic pain care complements other treatment well — we’re happy to coordinate with your physiotherapist, chiropractor, or family doctor so your care works together rather than in isolation.

It depends on the treatment and what’s causing the pain. Some patients feel relief after a single session of acupuncture or massage. Injection therapies like prolotherapy usually involve a series of treatments, with progress reviewed along the way. We’ll give you a realistic timeline once we’ve assessed what you’re working with.

Often, yes. Chronic and long-standing pain is some of the most common cases we see — pain that’s lingered long after an injury, or that built up gradually with no clear starting point. Whether it’s structural, inflammatory, or nerve-related, persistent pain usually has an underlying cause that hasn’t been addressed yet. That’s what we look for.

Naturopathic visits and registered massage therapy are covered by most extended health plans in BC. Coverage for specific procedures varies by provider. We recommend checking your plan to confirm what’s included.
