When you've been told everything looks normal but you know it isn't.

Whether you’re navigating fertility, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, hormone shifts, or menopause — you deserve practitioners who actually understand what you’re going through.

That sounds obvious. But for many women, it isn’t their experience. Concerns get minimized. Symptoms get dismissed as “just stress” or “just age.” Standard bloodwork comes back normal even when something clearly isn’t. The body that used to feel familiar starts to feel like a stranger — and the answers you’re getting don’t quite line up with what you’re living.

Women’s health is one of our deepest areas of focus at Garibaldi Health Clinic. That’s not a coincidence. It reflects how complex, nuanced, and deserving of real attention women’s health truly is. We test beyond standard panels, we listen carefully to what you’re actually experiencing, and we build treatment plans tailored to your body, your stage of life, and your goals — not a generic protocol.

You deserve a practitioner who treats your health with the depth it actually requires. That’s what you’ll find here.

How we help.

So many women come to us after being told everything looks normal, but knowing something isn’t right. Hormonal imbalances don’t always show up in standard bloodwork, and symptoms like exhaustion, weight shifts, mood changes, brain fog, and sleep disruption deserve proper investigation.

That gap between what the tests show and how you actually feel is exactly where naturopathic medicine works. We test beyond standard panels and build treatment plans that address what’s actually happening in your body, not just what’s easy to measure.

We test beyond the standard panels — including full thyroid assessment, reproductive hormone panels, adrenal function, and more — to get a complete picture of your hormonal landscape.

For patients with autoimmune conditions, allergies, or chronic infections, Dr. MacIver offers low dose immunotherapy — a targeted treatment used to support the immune system regulation.

Diet and herbal medicine play a significant role in hormonal health. We build targeted nutrition plans and use botanical medicine to support hormonal balance, liver detoxification, and overall endocrine function.

Acupuncture has long been used to support women’s health, with well-established applications for menstrual irregularities, fertility, pregnancy, menopausal transitions, and the stress and emotional dimensions that often accompany hormonal change.

Our NDs are licensed to prescribe medications in BC, giving you access to a full range of treatment options within a natural health framework.

Where your care begins.

Most patients arrive at our door with something unresolved. Sometimes it's been years, sometimes it's brand new. Whatever you're working with, we're here to help.

When you book with us, we'll talk through what's been going on, what you've tried, and what you're hoping for. From there, we'll build the right plan together — whether that's care I continue with you, or care coordinated with another practitioner on our team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your GP or gynecologist focuses on diagnosing and treating specific conditions, often within the framework of standard testing and medication. Naturopathic care looks at hormones as part of a connected system — including thyroid, adrenals, gut health, nutrition, and lifestyle factors that all influence how you feel. We use comprehensive testing, take time understanding the full picture, and have access to a wide range of treatment options.

This is one of the most common experiences we hear, and yes — this is exactly the gap naturopathic medicine works in. “Normal” on standard bloodwork means “within the broad population range.” It doesn’t mean “optimal for you.” We use comprehensive testing, interpret results in the context of how you’re actually feeling, and look at the patterns that standard panels aren’t designed to detect.

For many hormone tests, yes — reproductive hormones fluctuate across your cycle, and testing at the right time matters. We’ll give you specific instructions based on which panel we’re ordering. For perimenopausal or postmenopausal patients, cycle timing is less critical.

Yes. Naturopathic care works well alongside conventional fertility treatment — supporting hormonal balance, nutrition, stress management, and overall reproductive health. We coordinate with your fertility clinic and review any proposed treatment for potential interactions with your prescribed protocols. Many patients see us throughout their fertility journey, including during IVF cycles.

Some naturopathic care can be offered during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but not every treatment is suitable. Several of our practitioners have a particular focus in naturopathic pregnancy and postnatal care. Treatments are carefully selected for safety at every stage of pregnancy and breastfeeding, and we coordinate with your midwife or OB where appropriate.

Some women see us through a specific transition — perimenopause, fertility, postpartum — and then return as needed. Others choose ongoing care to stay ahead of changes. We’ll be honest with you about what’s realistic for your situation and what kind of timeline to expect.
